What The Steinbrenners must do right now to fix a sinking ship.....

First order of business, get rid of Brian Cashman.Yankee fans ought to be insulted. When you've got a 200million doller payroll you ought to be able to sustain injuries. And when fans are paying 250 dollars and upwards for a ticket to fill Yankee Stadium every day and night, they deserve more.In truth,we should have realized right from the get go that this Yankee team is not constructed for a trip to the postseason. No, there were a lot of critical player evalutions made here that were all wrong, and for that Cashman must be held accountable. So the GM has to assume the lions share of the blame here.He put this team together.Im not saying trading for Santana would've made the difference, but he was a sure thing. Was the money for Santana going to be crazy ? Absolutely, but these are the Yankees.Look at the Cashman disasters over the years,Kyle Farnsworth,Carl Pavano,Sidney Ponson,Latroy Hawkins,Damaso Marte,Scott Proctor,Kei Igawa,Randy Johnson,Mark Prior,Drew Henson,Signed Sheffield over Guerrero, and what about Bernie Williams,Torre wanted him ,Cashman did not.Cashman isn't alone in the accountability,Girardi must also come in for a share of the blame. There have been accusations for the last two years that the Yankees are playing like a team that doesn't care anymore. In fact they may just be playing uptight, a reflection of there tighty wound up manager, who is the antithesis of the calming, reassuring Joe Torre they were used to for ten years.

Second thing they have to do is get rid of Joe Girardi, Dave Eiland, Kevin Long.Give the Managers job to Tony Pena for the rest of the year.Replace Eiland with Goose Gossage, and replace Long with Wade Boggs who is looking to get back in baseball.Remember this saying i have remembered since i was a kid. If you want a good player in a trade you must be willing to give up a good player. Now its up to the Steinbrenners to do something before its to late.
